What is Metadata?
In simple terms metadata is the data tat describes your webpage. In the main we only refer to two pieces of metadata:
- Keywords
- Description
Whilst metadata is not given a huge amount of emphasis by the search engines it is still very useful provided the metadata and the content of the page are related.
You can have the same metadata for all pages that describes the overall purpose of your business or website, or you can have page specific metadata.
Metadata looks like:
Each keyword or key phrase should be separated by a comma.
Your description should be about 25 words and contain at least two of your major keywords or key phrases.
Flower Store In a Box allows you to either have common metadata across your site, or you can have different metadata for each product category and product.
It’s not essential that you have unique metadata on each page, however it certainly does help.
