Setting up an Online Payment Gateway
To allow your website to accept credit cards online you will need both an Online Payment Gateway AND a merchant account with your bank.
In most cases your bank will require that your website is up and running have specific content and meet some technical requirements.

SSL Encryption
Your website uses the most common up to date 128 bit SSL encryption for encrypting both personal and credit card details. SSL certificates are installed on your website as part of the package and are provided by RapidSSL.
Credit Card Details
The credit card number is never maintained or stored by your website, it is sent through a secure connection to your Online Payment Gateway. Then a declined or approved message is returned to your website.
Data Security
The data maintained in your website is secured by username and password access and is only available to authorised users. the website has various security mechanisms in place to limit and minimise data theft.

We recommend that you use eWay for your Online Payment Gateway and you can sign up online once your website is done and your merchant account is Internet enabled.
You can also accept paypal payments by signing up to Paypal as a Business Account holder.
Once your website is operational and you have setup your eWay account you can also apply to include American Express payments for your website.
